How to Set-Up Shopify Sync App for #shopalocal

First you need to create a Private App in your Shopify store. The app will generate the information that then need's to be entered into your #shopalocal account. When that information is saved in your account, you will then be able to import your products and sync information back and forth between your Shopify store and your #shopalocal account.

STEP 1: Create the private App in your Shopify Store

1. In your Shopify store, click on "Apps" and scroll to the bottom. Click on "Manage Private Apps."

2. Click on Create a new private app.

3. Under Private app name enter Shop a Local. Under Emergency developer email enter

4. Click on the "Show Inactive Admin API Permissions."

5. Scroll down to "Inventory View or Manage Inventory Across multiple locations," and select the drop down "Read Access."

6. Scroll down to "Save" and click on "Save. "Click on "I understand, create the app"

Your private app will now be listed under "Private Apps." Click on the "Shop a Local" app to view the details.



Step 2:  Copy and paste your API credentials from your Private App to your admin account in #shopalocal.

1. Log in to your #shopalocal account. And go to Set-Up>>Shopify Sync

2. Enter the following details:

  • Under store URL, enter the URL to your store without www or http. 
  • In API Key, enter your Private App's API Key.
  • In Secret Key, enter your private app's Password.


3. You can enable or disable the autosync for your products.

4. Leave dropshipping disabled.

5. Press save.

You will now see a green button in the top right corner that says "Import Products.' 

Step 3: Import Products from your Shopify Store

1. Click on the Import Products button. You will have three methods to import products:

Method 1:- Choose a Date Range & import products that are created in between the entered range.

2nd Method:- Import products by comma-separated product IDs.

Method 3:- Import products by product handle.

Choose the method you'd like to use and click on Import.

Once your products are imported, they will be visible under Products >> Inventory.
