About Backyard Studios

Backyard Studios features 'beautiful handmade goods' by a practicing artist. When all art shows were cancelled in 2020, and the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Carolyn began making cloth non-medical masks for front line workers, friends and neighbours. Making masks to keep people safe became a way to help out and it quickly grew to a busy homebased business. To fuel her creative needs and desire to make the best mask she could, Carolyn sourced other small home based businesses that stocked beautiful high quality fabrics. She joined maskmaking networks, researched and consistently refined her designs, incorporating new products and recommendations to all of her mask and accessory products and developed her signature pleated mask.  Since April 2020 she has been providing masks to adults and kids directly and through a boutique and art gallery and she looks forward to reaching others through #shopalocal.
