About the Artist
Chelly is a Vancouver-based musician (B.Mus., University of British Columbia) and communications professional. She started her visual art endeavours with a 365 Project: a commitment to creating art every day for a year and sharing it with others in order to cultivate motivation, mindfulness, momentum and creative flow. It’s about enjoying the process, abandoning perfectionism, giving oneself a chance to experiment, and embracing the ritual of daily creativity. Well-beyond the initial 365 days, Chelly actively creates mixed media works, analog & digital collage, abstract watercolour, and illustration, focusing on vibrant colours, stark contrasts, rich & mixed textures, DIY vibe and emotive dreamscapes.
Her artwork has been featured on Society6 and in Discorder Magazine. She also enjoys doing art commissions, album covers, and other graphic design projects for record labels and independent bands & musicians, both local and international.
Chelly is a 3rd generation Canadian with European and African-American ancestry. She is biracial, femme cisgender woman, manages chronic illness, and lives on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Follow
